Digital Retinal Imaging
Digital Retinal Imaging creates a detailed, permanent record of the tissue lining the back of the eye, the retina. This high resolution image clearly shows the health of your eyes and is useful for viewing, documenting, and monitoring eye diseases, and for providing a baseline to track any changes in your eyes in future eye examinations. It is a quick, safe, noninvasive, and painless procedure.
This service is not funded by OHIP, but may be covered by your private insurance.
Automated Vision Fields
This is a computerized assessment of your peripheral or central vision. It is often used when testing for diseases such as glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and brain tumours. It is a straightforward test, painless, and does not involve eye drops.
This test may be covered by OHIP if you meet certain requirements. It may also be covered by your private insurance.
